General Aviation & Itinerant Aprons
Most of the general aviation aprons are provided on the northern side of the runway. The airport accommodates general aviation aircraft in size from Code 1 to Code C. Currently there is 59000m2 of mixed Code B and Code A parking areas located along taxiway Delta. The area required per aircraft for parking depends on density and layout; for planning purposes long term parking typically varies from 250m2 for Code A aircraft to 400m2 for Code B aircraft.
There is Code C parking area off Taxiway Charlie, capable of parking between 2 to 5 aircraft depending on their size. Adjacent to this is a temporary heavy helicopter apron which can accommodate two heavy helicopters. There is 24000m2 provided for hangars, which is not totally completed.
To the South side of the runway there is a designated drop off zone for the general aviation aircraft on the northern RPT apron. This allows for passenger transfer from General Aviation to RPT flights.
Parking must be organised by the tower.
