Noise Management

Fly neighbourly procedures are requested when operating piston engine and turboprop aircraft including helicopters within the Broome environ, except in IMC or when in VMC and stress of weather or traffic avoidance procedures require alternative action.

These procedures do not apply to ultra light aircraft.

Landing Runway 10
All aircraft are requested to be established on final while over water.
Landing Runway 28 (All aircraft except twin engine helicopters)
All aircraft are requested to be established on final approach while over water (Dampier Creek)

Training Flights - All Aircraft

The Broome International Airport management requests circuit training be conducted only between the hours of 0900 to 2000 WST and all training flights be conducted in a manner which avoids over flying built up areas.

Engine Ground Running - All Aircraft

Due to the proximity of the Broome residential area, it is requested engine ground running should be restricted to the minimum necessary to ensure a safe operation.
Broome International Airport management have requested maintenance ground runs be conducted only between the hours of 0700 to 2000 WST and within the confines of the engine run up area, unless otherwise approved by the aerodrome operator.
Preflight run-ups by piston engine aircraft between the hours of 1900 to 0700 WST are to be conducted in the designated run up area.
